OXO Tot Baby Food Containers
Once your baby starts solids, you will need something to store their food in. I really love this set of Glass baby food storage containers by OXO Tot. These are perfect to measure out food, store, heat, freeze, or serve your baby food either at home or at daycare. The thing I love most about these is that they are made from thermal shock resistant glass. This means it can go straight from the freezer to the microwave without any risk of glass shards breaking off into your child’s food.

Each jar comes with a snap-on lid to prevent leaks and spills. The set also comes with a handy plastic holder that all the jars fit nicely in for storage. The side of the jar measures out 4 ounces on the one side, and 120 mL on the other side so you know exactly how much food is in there. The glass is very thick and the jars seem very sturdy. I have dropped it once or twice on the tile floor and they did not shatter, which was a huge plus for me.
Cons:
There are a few minor things I don’t love about this product. First is the price. These come in at about $5 per jar, but compared to other brands I thought it was worth it. Other glass containers can have microscopic shards of glass break off into your food when freezing, and the risk was just too great for something I store my child’s food in. I decided to go with this good quality container made by a trusted brand.
Second, I don’t like that the rubber gasket in the lid is capable of coming out. This makes me worried about the possibility of mold growing in between the lid and the rubber seal. I try to remember to remove the rubber ring once in a while and clean it really well.
Third, these are quite heavy for how small they are. This is a small downside, but I thought I should mention it as I was a bit surprised when they arrived. I do like the high quality of the jars, and the weight comes from the thick glass.
Overall
I love that these are dishwasher friendly and even the markings seem to withstand the dishwasher. I am a big fan of any product that serves a dual purpose. These containers work great for baby food now, and will still be useful later for basic kitchen containers. I have stored liquid in them before and even after tipping on the side, we did not encounter any leaks. This is a very high quality product and I would recommend it to any parent looking for a baby food container.
